We met while we were in school in Texas and dated for two years before marrying in 2002. Both of us have a strong desire to be parents, but we have been unable to conceive despite years of trying on our own and with infertility treatments. Last year, we became informed about adoption and decided this was the best path to building our family. 

Amber, 33, is a professor of Communication. She grew up in Texas with a younger brother. Andy, 36, works in research and development. He grew up in Illinois with an older sister and older brother. We share our home with a tabby cat named Heidi.  She is shy with strangers and yet loves attention when she gets to know someone.

Family is very important to us, and we especially enjoy playing with our six nieces and nephews. We spend time together doing a variety of activities, including travel, fishing, art, music, farmers’ markets, and watching local sports. We also enjoy being at home with cards, board games, bocce, and the Wii. We are both passionate about cooking, gardening, and being all-around do-it-your-selfers. Together we have a lot of love, interests and experiences to share with a child.
