Hello, we are Bernie and Julie. First, let us thank you for taking a few minutes to get to know something about us. We realize that you are reading this because you are facing the most difficult decision of your life. As you consider making an adoption plan for your baby, know that we are praying for God to watch over you and guide you. We are also praying that, perhaps, you will read this letter and feel that He is leading you to us.
ABOUT US
We met six years ago at work and felt an instant connection. We married in 2006 and are so grateful to have found each other. We are truly each other’s best friend. We knew before we got married that we wanted to raise a child together, we also knew we would face fertility issues. We both have a very strong faith, so when fertility treatments failed we realized that God had a different plan for us, adoption.
Bernie about Julie: Julie is the most caring and wonderful person I have ever known. Julie has a college-age daughter, Justine, and the endless love Julie has for her amazes me every day. For the past six years I have seen, first-hand, the commitment and patience Julie has as a mother and this just makes me love her more and more. She is a very strong person and has a very calming influence. She is the kind of person you can always count on. Julie loves baking and I would put her chocolate chip cookies up against anyone’s. She also loves spending time outdoors and I cherish the long walks we take together. Julie has so much love to give and I look forward to raising our child with her.
Julie about Bernie: Bernie is a very kind, loving and genuine person. He has been a wonderful stepfather to Justine and the favorite uncle of all his nieces and nephews. Bernie has always wanted to be a father and I can’t imagine anyone who will be a better dad. He is the kind of person who will be there for his child every step of the way. He loves sports and is very active, so I know he would love to coach any sports our child chooses to play. Bernie will also be the kind of father who will play chauffer to brownies or cub scouts or pick our son or daughter up from their first sleepover at 1 a.m. because they’re homesick. I cannot wait to raise our child with him.
OUR LIVES TOGETHER
Bernie is a police officer with our local police department and has been working in our community for 16 years. Julie works as a civilian in administration for the same police department and has been there for 13 years. Julie plans on taking a leave of absence from her job when we bring our baby home. We both have flexible work schedules and will make spending time with our child our top priority.
We want you to know that if you were to choose us as adoptive parents for your baby we would give him or her unconditional love and support. You would always be spoken of with love and respect in our home and we would love to share pictures, letters or visits with you, if you are comfortable with that. We look forward to meeting you.
