Meet Chris & Erin G.

Meet Chris & Erin G.

Dear Birthparents,

Thank you so much for allowing us to share our family story with you! We acknowledge that your decision is a very difficult one, but one born out of love. We appreciate you taking the time to learn about us in this important time in your life.

We started out as friends, then realized that a love had grown between us. We dated for almost two years before we got married in 2010 in a ceremony on the beach. We were blessed with a son in 2011 and have been trying for a second child, but are unable to have any more children. Our hearts have led us to adoption after we witnessed our best friend’s journey through an open adoption.

Our Home We live in a suburb outside of Cincinnati. We enjoy all the professional sports teams there, and take Carter to every Reds game we can! Our home is a three-bedroom two-story house within walking distance of the elementary school. We have walking trails, a stocked lake where we enjoy fishing and a playground Carter loves!

Taking time to build our relationship as a couple is important to us.

About Chris according to Erin Chris keeps the family happy and laughing. He’s also very good at paying attention to detail and helps us stay focused on our goals. When our son had to be hospitalized for seizures, I saw him calm our child in a way that made my heart melt. His heart is full of love for his family and he would do anything for us. Chris enjoys outdoor activities, military history, going to the gym, listening to music, target shooting and spending time with the family.

About Erin according to Chris Erin is the “go-with-the-flow” person in our relationship and adapts well to any twist and turn life throws at us. She has a kiss that heals all wounds, a voice that calms a soul and heart that is open to love. She enjoys scrapbooking, photography, traveling, listening to music, visiting aquariums and volunteering at Carter’s school.

How often do you see a Wookie holding a Wookie?

About Carter Carter is excited to be a big brother! He is so in love with babies in general and every time he walks by the nursery he says, “That’s the baby’s room!” He is currently five, in preschool and loves to swim, play outdoors and go anywhere in the car. When he was 18 months old, Carter developed Epilepsy, but with the help of the Cleveland Clinic, he has been seizure free for about a year and a half!

Our Extended Family We have a great family, with four brothers, one sister, eight cousins, and several aunts and uncles. All of them are so excited at the thought of adding a new baby to our family through adoption and can’t wait to meet them!We spend the Fourth of July with Papaw and Gigi (Chris’ dad and step-mother), Thanksgiving with Erin’s Aunt Dewey and Uncle Sam, and Christmas with Uncle Matt, Grandpa and Mammaw (Chris’ brother, Erin’s dad and Chris’ mom). We take advantage of every holiday to make it a special family event. Vacations have always been a non-negotiable item for us, even if it is just a few days away to unplug from electronics and connect as a family.

Our hopes and dreams for our family encompasses a goal of creating a solid foundation for our children to enable them to be successful, independent contributors to society. We promise to love your child unconditionally, support them through every decision and comfort them through every sorrow. We promise to maintain the family history for your child so that they always know where they came from. Your child will always know that you made an adoption plan out of the ferocious love you have for them.

Please know that we would like the chance to support you and love you through this journey, whatever your choice may be. If you so choose, we would love to meet with you, spend time with you and discuss your plans for your child! We’d love to share with you who we are, what we stand for and how we plan to grow as a family. We look forward to hearing from you!

Love,
Chris, Erin and Carter
