Meet Sam & Karen W.

Dear Expectant Parents,

Hello and thank you for considering us as you develop an adoption plan. We are Sam and Karen and we live in Wadsworth, Ohio, a suburb located between Akron and Medina. We want you to know from the start that our love and faith have led us to adoption. If chosen, we pledge to provide a safe and loving home that will give your child opportunities to fulfill their dreams and aspirations. Our extended family has already experienced blessings through the adoption of Sam’s half-brother by his father, and we are excited about using open adoption to expand our family.

We both grew up in northeast Ohio: Sam in a small city and Karen in a rural farming community. We met through an online dating website in 2011 and were married in April 2013. We have a strong marriage that is built on love, trust, honesty, friendship and mutual respect for who we are as individuals.

We enjoy experiencing other cultures and cannot wait to share the world with a child!

We have both lived internationally and enjoy experiencing other cultures. We cannot wait to share the world with a child! Sam served in the Air Force for four years, attended Malone University, and has excelled in the sales of commercial trucks and auto recovery vehicles. Karen graduated from the University of Akron and has worked in product development for a large Fortune 500 company for over 18 years. We are grateful that we both have flexible work schedules, because we want to be involved and “hands-on” parents. We are very financially stable and can afford everything our growing family may want or need.

In our home, faith and education are priorities. We will raise a child placed in our home in the evangelical Christian faith and provide private education and college options that will develop their moral character and allow them to reach their full potential.

We are blessed to come from large families with lots of siblings, nieces, nephews and cousins. Many live nearby and all are anxious to love and welcome a little one. We also have friends with young children, including a few with adopted children, who can join us on play dates.

Horseback riding and enjoying the zoo

The neighborhood in which we live is family oriented with lots of small children, has a playground, and is just a short walk to the community recreation center and pools. Our town has a wonderful library that offers evening learning and educational programs for kids year round.

A child growing up in our home and family will know afternoons devoted to taking trips to the park to play and to feed the fish, evenings of family games and special movie nights, bedtimes filled with lullabies and stories, and Saturdays spent baking chocolate chip cookies. Your child will also grow up knowing winter days building snowmen in the yard followed by hot cocoa next to the fireplace, holidays surrounded by loved ones, and “fans” (family and friends) at any game or concert he or she may participate in.

Please know that we are excited about the opportunity to nurture your child. If placed with us, we promise to give them a life full of unconditional love and an appreciation for their special adoption story and your loving sacrifice.

With much gratitude,
Sam and Karen W.
