Meet Steven & Jaclyn T.

Adoptive family.

Dear Birthparents,

Thank you for taking the time to learn about our family. We cannot imagine being in your position, but we know that God is with you. We honor and respect the choice you are making and we are praying for you and your child.

We are Steven, Jaclyn and Ava. When we married in December of 2003, we knew that Jaclyn had a medical condition that made it unsafe for her to carry a child, so we decided that when the time came, we would grow our family through adoption. By the time we decided to start a family, Jaclyn’s doctor told us that she could now carry a child – we knew God had brought healing but decided that adoption was still how we wanted to grow our family. In March of 2015 the love of our lives, Ava, came into our lives, and we can’t imagine life without her.

Jaclyn is a very loving mother, and spending time together as a family is her number one joy. She had always wanted to be a stay-at-home mother, and when Ava was born that dream became a reality. In her spare time Jaclyn enjoys crafting and scrapbooking, playing the piano, gardening, camping with family and friends, and working with the youth at our church.

Steven is a very loving and loyal husband and father who works hard to provide for his family. Each day after work, he walks through the door with a smile on his face as Ava runs to her Daddy for a hug. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his family, being outdoors, working on our small pig farm, hunting, and fishing.

Ava is excited to be a big sister! She turns three in March, and she loves to play. She likes painting, drawing and coloring at her art center, putting together floor puzzles, and helping Mommy fix meals. Her all-time favorite thing to do is anything outside.

We live in the country near our extended families, and are fortunate to have a lot of land, which gives us instant access to outdoor fun year round: hills for sleigh riding, trails for walking, ponds for fishing, hilltops for kite flying, and a great playset right in our own backyard.

We love spending time together as a family. Whether it’s inside the house watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, in our backyard playing, or on vacation at the beach, family time is the best. We attend a small country church just down the road from our house. There are several young children there, and Ava enjoys spending time with them. After church, we usually head to a family member’s house for lunch and some time together.

Vacationing normally means a trip to the beach or the mountains. We also like to go to Disney World and recently took Ava for the first time. We can hardly wait to take her again, only this time with a little sister or brother.

Holidays are always special occasions with our families, especially Christmas, which is filled with many traditions. Several fond memories have been made on Christmas Eve with all of Jaclyn’s family at her grandparents’ home.

We feel openness in adoption is beneficial for all involved: you, your child, and our family. We are more than willing to exchange emails, letters, pictures and videos to promote an open adoption. We promise to provide a safe, stable and loving home for your child, and to love your child with all our hearts. Again, we thank you for taking the time to get to know us.

With love,
Steven, Jaclyn & Ava T.
