Meet Mike & Miki M.

Thank you very much for your dedication to your child. Your bravery in finding the best option for your precious child must have been an emotional struggle that we can only begin to imagine. Your decision to find a home through adoption is an act of love and selflessness for your birthchild. Thank you for your strength. Our difficulties in starting a family are small in comparison to the struggles that you are experiencing. Your courage will be admired by both your baby and us as we begin our family.

We are very excited to start a family. Miki and Mike fell in love while Mike was studying abroad in Japan. Miki was already working and we decided to start a new life together in the US shortly after Mike finished his university studies. We were married shortly after we moved to Cincinnati about ten years.

In the beginning, Mike was busy with his new job while Miki was adjusting to a new career and a new life in the United States. Mike has been working as a manufacturing and systems manager since he graduated from The Ohio State University. Miki worked in Japan after graduating from college, but then became a flower designer since she came to the US.

Mike’s roots are in Cleveland, Ohio, while Miki grew up in Nagoya, Japan. We both are from a family of three siblings to whom we are very close. They are all very supportive of our decision to adopt. Mike’s family now lives in Ohio and in several parts of the US, while Miki’s family is located in Japan. We do our best to see them and visit family regularly, including travelling back to Japan about once per year.

We also love to spend time with friends and nature. Our normal days outside of work include exercise, hiking, camping, photography and spending time with our close friends. We add a little travel when possible.

We are very excited about starting a new family. We moved past our infertility issues. When we decided to adopt, we filed an application to China in 2006; however, the process is taking longer than expected and will likely be completed in 2010. We decided to begin another adoption at the end of 2008 and pray every day that our dream will come true. Our children will be living in a multi-cultural home, with a touch of the US, Japan, Judaism, China, and any other culture our children bring to our house.

Thank you for thinking of us.
