We realize you are about to make a huge decision and are in awe of your courage. We can only imagine how challenging it is to choose the perfect adoptive parents for your child. We were raised in the same hometown and even went to the same high school. We finally found love together many years later when Rick came to one of Marni’s yoga classes and we reconnected. On September 24, 2006, we were married.

We both have always wanted to get married and have children. We thought we’d have biological children and had also longed to adopt. When we were married we never imagined we would have challenges having biological children. This is where you come into the picture. If you are open to meeting us we would love to meet you, but before we meet in person here is a little bit about who we are.

Rick is a “people” person. He’s intelligent, athletic, creative, & rocks it out on the guitar. Rick graduated from Tufts University and received a Masters Degree from Yale University in Environmental Studies. He was the smart, tree-hugging, scientist who worked on the scientific team that uncovered acid rain. Although his formal education focused on environmental studies he has turned his love of music into a career in the Radio Business. For the past 12 years he’s been a Senior Sales Executive in the radio business. He’s the guy who sells all the programs you hear on the radio, Ryan Seacrest, Casey Casem, Delilah, Jeff Foxworthy and more.

Rick loves kids and they love him right back! He’s so funny and sweet with them and has an open-hearted way of conversing with them. He will be a fantastic father and our house will be full of laughter and music. 

Marni lives her life by the adage, “Do what you love and the money will follow.” She is a full-time yoga teacher, aromatherapy-lotion maker, and actress. She graduated with a BFA in Drama from New York University. After graduation, she performed with a theater company in New York City as well as around the country. You may have even seen her in a Subway commercial last year. Studying yoga relaxed her as a performer and it led her to her next career as a yoga teacher. She has studied with the top yoga masters in the world and is certified in two yoga traditions. She is well known in our city for her inspirational classes and expert teaching.  

Kids love Marni!!!  For ten years, she taught pre-school. Art, story time, singing “the wheels on the bus”, jumping daily on a trampoline were all part of her day and she can’t wait to do it all again! Marni is a professional singer, so lullabies come easy to her. Her friend’s 4 year-old daughter calls her regularly to sing “The Little Mermaid” song because she sounds just like Ariel.  Marni is one of the most accepting, unbiased people. She always values the unique worth of each individual. With her passion and sensitivity, Marni will be a great mom and will encourage your child to shine in his or her unique way.

We promise that we will nurture your child’s strengths and support them in realizing their dreams. We hope to create a relationship with you that’s comfortable. Our goal is to be honest with you and your child and hope to create a relationship that honors everyone involved.

When the baby arrives, Marni will definitely stay at home. Rick may even work out of home as well which will insure a lot of cuddle time for your baby. We also have both of our families nearby and they are excited to be a big part of the baby’s life!  Babysitters are ready!
      
For us, parenting is about listening and being sensitive to the child’s needs. Especially important, are education, extracurricular activities and parental involvement. We live in a great school district but are open to private school if that would serve your child better. We’ll lovingly guide him/her in a supportive, positive, safe environment that highlights his/her best qualities.  If inspired by sports, we’ll be at every game and if music & art are their inspiration, we’ll play in the family band, explore museums, and frequent the theater. We believe that parenting also includes teaching values. Honesty, trustworthiness and respect for others are important to us.  In all these areas, we will strive to be the best parents we can be. 
     
We live in our hometown so we have many childhood friends nearby as well as dear friends all over the country and the world.  We both have traveled the world extensively and for us, traveling is a great opportunity for continuing education. We are blessed with an abundance of dear friends who live near and far. Some of our favorite places include New York City, Los Angeles, Costa Rica, Paris and St. John. We look forward to adding to our list, and we look forward to sharing our interests and our multi-cultural friends with your child. Our plan is that we will travel and have fun learning together!
