Meet Sam & Gail B.

It takes a village to raise a child.
– African proverb

Thank you for considering us! We have been married for four years and dated for two years prior to that. We found out a few years ago that we would be unable to have a healthy child biologically. We decided that adoption was the right decision for us, and are committed to making an adoption plan that is as open as you feel comfortable with. Our child will not only be loved and cherished by us as parents, but by a larger community – our family and friends – as well. We live in a diverse, kid-friendly neighborhood with our two playful cats.

About Sam and Gail:
Sam is 31 years old. He taught elementary school for five years before becoming a children’s librarian at a public library. Throughout his career Sam’s one passion has been helping connect kids with good books. He has an older sister and a younger sister, and really loves being around his niece and three nephews. Sam is a music lover and a third generation Cubs fan.

Gail is 28 years old. After spending four years in various educational roles, she has been the assistant manager at a children’s bookstore for the last year and a half. Gail loves being around children, helping them find books, and conducting story time once a week. She has one older sister with whom she is very close. Gail loves cooking, working in the garden, and spending time with friends.

We love to take walks together, travel, and spend time with friends. Sam has recently become a decent enough cook to help Gail with meal preparation, and this has also become a nice way for us to spend quality time together.

About Sam (by Gail)
Sam is my best friend and a wonderful partner.  I think Sam is going to be an amazing father.  He is loving, caring, and very funny.  When I have watched Sam with children, he has a silly side that kids love, but also knows how to discipline in a way that shows the children he cares about them.  Sam’s niece and nephews love being around him!  I value Sam’s patience and how he is able to be calm.

About Gail (by Sam)
Gail is so fun to be around - she makes me laugh constantly! It has been so much fun to watch Gail go from working with middle school students as a teacher, to running story time for a bunch of toddlers and preschoolers at her bookstore. And she doesn’t miss a beat! She is able to connect with children of all ages and backgrounds. I cannot wait to be a parent with Gail!

Thanks again for reading our letter and we hope to hear from you soon!
