Meet Samo & Angel M.

Dear Expectant Parents,
We would like to begin by saying how much we respect you and the extremely difficult decision you are facing, a decision that will be quite monumental. We both admire you for your courage, strength and love for your child to have made the decision to pursue adoption. We are deeply honored to be considered parents for your child and that you are taking this time to get to know a little about us.

Our Story & Why We Chose Adoption: We are Samo and Angel and we live in a charming town in Northeast Ohio in a newly built ranch home on a spacious 2-acre lot with plenty of room for a child to run and play, along with the many children in our neighborhood. We have been together for 7 years and we began dating and knew very quickly we were soul mates. We dated for 2 ½ yrs. & got engaged in Oct. of 2006. We were then married in Hawaii one year later in October 2007 on one of the spectacular beaches near Honolulu. We have struggled with infertility for several years with 4 attempts at In-Vitro Fertilization with no success. Our fourth attempt resulted in a pregnancy but we miscarried, which was more heartbreaking than the many years of infertility. This was the turning point in our lives that helped us realize that for us, it wasn’t about being pregnant, it is all about becoming parents and having the family we both always dreamed of. We so want to share the love we have for each other, with a child. We feel as though our life is not complete until we have the gift of a child to share our lives with.

A little about us: We both love being outdoors, traveling and vacationing, going on walks, working in our yard and garden, spending time with our family and two little Yorkie’s - Mindi & Mandi. We both come from a close-knit family with strong family values and spiritual beliefs. Family is our foundation, along with laughter and a lot of love. Sunday is the day we make a big meal and spend the entire day with family, it is our favorite day of the week. We have many nieces, nephews and Godchildren that we enjoy watching grow, attending their sporting events and being with them for every holiday along with taking our annual family vacation. This summer we went on our family vacation on a houseboat. There were 10 of us and we had so much fun swimming, eating, cooking, playing and relaxing. Family is very, very important to us. Samo has been a Deputy Sheriff for 15 years and works on the patrol division at his department. He is a fun loving, silly guy who loves life and has a deep passion for helping people and friends in anyway he can. Samo is dedicated to everyone he meets and everything he does. Three years ago Samo had taken on a new venture, in addition to his law enforcement career and started a rental business, which has become very successful and has grown every year. Angel has an In-Home Childcare business. When she started her business in 1993 it was her intentions to be a work-at-home mom. Having the best of both worlds with being able to stay home with our child/children along with contributing financially to our household. At the time of opening the childcare business we weren’t aware of the future infertility issues we would face, and now in hindsight we know this is what she was meant to do out of her deep love for children, and we feel that God helped fill the void we both felt with the little rays of sunshine that she is honored to take care of each and everyday in our home. We believe that when we have a child he/she will have the best of both worlds, as well. Mommy will be home spending quality time them and they will have lifelong friends to play with on a daily basis. We are both very focused on our families’ financial future as we have always saved and planned for the years ahead, as well as plans for our child’s future education. We also are active in our local church that is newly built and at the end of our cul-de-sac street.  We walk to church each week and we are both involved in our church functions. We volunteer in the nursery and love spending time with the babies, along with Angel teaching the 2-5 year olds Sunday School. We both believe that a strong foundation has established a core value system that we carry with us each day. We rely on that for comfort and strength. It is our wish that our child will someday have the same values to lean on throughout their life.

What We Love:
We both love to cook and spend time in the kitchen. After our workday it is our way of reconnecting with each other. Angel loves to watch the Food Network to get meal ideas and pointers on inventive ways to prepare meals. We eat dinner together almost every night at the table and talk about our day. Neither of us are picky eaters and love to try new foods and recipes.  We both love to work on our home together, inside and out. We love gardening, landscaping and just spending time making our house look and feel like “home”. We love traditions. Each holiday is spent preparing traditional dishes from both our heritage’s (Slovenian, Slovak & Irish) then getting together with family to have a huge sit down dinner at the dining room table and spend the rest of the day celebrating the theme of the holiday. Easter is spent going on an egg hunt and passing out the baskets to all the children, Thanksgiving is spent feasting on all the wonderful food we prepared and then relaxing the rest of the day away watching movies in front of the fireplace, Christmas is spent under the tree opening presents one person at a time and spending the rest of the day watching the children playing with their new toys and games. We also attend many events in the downtown square of our charming town. Christmas Candlelight Walk, Summer Farmer’s Market, Winter Ice Carving Festival, Summer Concerts, and more.

In Closing: We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for taking a small glimpse into the window of our lives. Although it’s difficult to sum up our lives without knowing us or meeting us, we hope to meet with you so we can get to know each other.  We cannot even begin to imagine what a complicated journey this must be for you, but we want you to know that we are humbled, admire you and your choice for following your heart into adoption. Our promise to you is that we will love your child with all of our hearts, give them our unending love all of their lives and be the best parents we can possibly be. You are very special to be granting such a miraculous gift, the gift of your child. You will be in our hearts and thoughts as you go through this process.
