Meet Andy & Laura M.
We are Andy and Laura, and we’d like to share our story with you. Firstly, we would like to express our support and respect to you, for you are strong and selfless.
We met in 2015. Not quite a year into our relationship, we took a tri p to Florida. It was there that we both knew we would marry. During the first few years of dating, Laura was completing her Master’s degree in Nursing. When it was finished, we took a celebratory trip to Mexico, and that’s where we got engaged. We got married in 2018 and spent our honeymoon camping in a van along the southern coast of Iceland. Now, we feel like everyday is as exciting as those incredible vacations we took early on.
We both agree our favorite vacation was a cruise to Honduras, Belize, and Mexico.
Traveling is one of our passions. One of the best parts of seeing the world is learning new cultures and trying new foods. We knew we were travel buddies for life right after our first trip! Our honeymoon was in Iceland, where we slept in a camper van. We love going camping. Most recently, we went on a road trip to Connecticut to see the fall foliage. Our bucket list includes seeing every state, drinking a mint julep at the Kentucky Derby, kissing the Blarney Stone, and celebrating Mardi Gras in New Orleans. We hope our child will catch the same travel bug. We love learning new cultures and eating new food – and want to show our child the world!
When we’re at home, we both work full time. Andy works in retail sales, specializing in computers and technology. Laura works as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, where she takes care of people needing anesthesia for surgery.
Our home is in a friendly neighborhood, with kids biking, neighbors having garage sales, and dogs being walked. Our school system is known for their performing arts club, and we hope to instill music and art into our child’s life. During down time, you can find us camping or grilling out. Andy attends a martial arts class, Aikido, once a week. And Laura uses that time to read or bake. We have two dogs. Sophie is content to sleep all day, and Killian spends his day playing fetch with an old sock. They’ve both attended obedience school, are well-behaved, and get along great with kids of all ages.
We were destined to adopt and have thought about it for many years, even before trying to conceive. We feel adoption is good for our community and society. We know we are blessed to have the ability to provide many opportunities. We want to use culture, art, and travel as a way to educate our child about the world. Our goal is to raise a child who makes a good citizen – by loving everyone, sharing kindness, and being empathetic towards others. And we want you to be a part of that world through an open adoption. We want our child to know you and your love.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know us and thank you for the incredible gift you are giving. We hope we can assure you that you are brave, loving, and that you will find the right home for your child.
With the greatest respect,
Andy & Laura
