Meet Brian & Stephanie W.

Adoptive family

Dear Birth Parents,

Thank you for taking the time to read about our family. We have been married for 12 years and together a total of 15 years. We have always talked about starting a family. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen complications with fertility, we are unable to have a child on our own. As soon as we learned this, we both immediately agreed that adoption was the best way to grow our family.

We met at Miami University of Ohio when we were both studying music education. In 2004, we began dating and quickly knew we shared not only the same interests, but the same values in life — honesty, integrity, and respect for others. Three years later, we decided to marry, and buy a home. Over the years, we have grown as a couple, enjoying life at home in everything we do.

We are both music teachers, and music is a big part of our lives. Brian teaches younger kids music basics and creative expression, and Stephanie teaches high schoolers various band instruments. We find teaching to be an extremely fulfilling profession. Being teachers also gives us time at home, especially in the summer, to relax with each other and our dog, Ozzie. We love making up goofy songs around the house as we cook dinner. We just generally enjoy being with one another.

Loving family
Making music together

We definitely enjoy an occasional vacation. Seeing new places and learning about different regions of the world fascinates us. We have traveled to Michigan, the Carolinas, Chicago, and more recently to San Antonio and Austin, Texas. We also love and appreciate music concerts of all kinds, from large symphony orchestras to small rock/popular venues.

At the end of the day, we love our lives at home, whether playing a game, watching TV, or simply relaxing and joking around with each other. We know all these activities, events, and places will mean even more as we expand our family.

Meet Brian I grew up in the Cincinnati area and spent holidays and summers with family and friends enjoying backyard barbecues, swimming parties, and sleepovers with cousins.

Today, I teach Elementary Music and I love every minute of it! I get to help younger students explore their interests and learn the joy of music. Outside of school, I love working on projects like refinishing the basement and building furniture. I also enjoy board game night with friends. What I love best is time at home with Stephanie and our goofball dog, Ozzie.

Meet Stephanie I love being creative. I grew up in a creative home with my father always playing guitar and my mother craftily sewing costumes. I started learning the piano at the age of five and picked up a few other instruments along the way, so I already knew at age 11 that I was going to be a band teacher when I grew up. These days, I enjoy performing with my students in band and choir. I’ve always loved challenges and puzzles, from learning a new instrument to learning how to paint a landscape.

I am grateful for the freedom and creativity my work allows. I organize and direct several concerts, talent shows, and musicals throughout the year, and then I get to come home and spend most of my time with family, especially over the summer.

Ready to adopt
We love to cook.

Home & Community We live in a two-story, four-bedroom home with a basement that we recently finished. Our home is located on a quiet cul-de-sac with many other families who have young children. We have a large yard that we can’t wait to use for outside fun and games with our child. Our community is a small but vibrant area with restaurants, parks, and an amazing school system. We are about 20 minutes from downtown Cincinnati and we enjoy everything the city has to offer — the zoo, museums, shows, parks, and events.

Things we will do with our child: Read books. | Get creative with art and music projects. | Teach them to play any instrument they’re interested in. | Spend extended summer vacations taking family trips. | Explore the zoo and our local parks and museums. | Encourage them to try new things. | Love them with all our heart.

We want you to know that your child will be very loved. Your child will know where he or she came from and how important you are to our family. We are truly grateful that you are considering us for this opportunity. We are ready to take this journey with you!

With love,
Brian & Stephanie
