Meet Kate & Jennifer Z.
Thank you for considering us to be the adoptive parents for your child. We are Kate and Jennifer. We met while working at a summer camp in 2007, and haven’t stopped having fun and loving each other since! Our relationship is now 11 years strong; we were married in 2014.
Kate grew up in the Twin Cities, Minnesota, in a big Italian family with lots of cousins, big holiday dinners, and family picnics. As a kid, she was always active – climbing trees, swimming, or exploring anywhere she could. She loved math and science, and by college knew she could make “problem solving” and “fixing stuff” into a career. Kate is now a physician (her grandmother always said she would end up being a pediatrician!) and is finishing her training in both general pediatrics and child psychiatry. She has a soft spot in her heart for taking care of kids (and sometimes adults, too!).
Jennifer grew up in a suburb of Chicago, Illinois, in a small but close-knit family. She grew up doing a lot of sewing and arts and crafts activities with her mom, and has always looked forward to sharing these creative activities with her own child! She has already made a beautiful baby quilt for their someday baby. Jennifer is an elementary school teacher. She has been working with kids her entire life and is now a fourth grade English language arts teacher. Jennifer enjoys doing puzzles, gardening, and singing along to Broadway musicals.
We are so excited for a little one to become a part of our family.
We love our home in a quiet suburb of Cincinnati. Our house has room for our family to grow, and a huge back yard for playing and relaxing outside. As a teacher, Jennifer looks forward to having summers off so she can take our child on lots of fun adventures every year. We plan on lots of visits to parks, museums, hikes, the zoo, sprinkler days, play dates, sidewalk chalk with the neighbors and going to the YMCA for swimming lessons.
We love going on adventures! Sometimes we visit awesome state and county parks to go biking, hiking, or swimming. Our vacations are action packed – like hiking and kayaking in Norway, or spending time at the family cabin in northern Minnesota (water skiing, fishing, and family dinners). Other times, we like to just chill at home with the dogs, have game nights with friends, or simply cozy up in blankets outside on the porch and watch the stars at night.
We have a lot of support from family and friends. Both of our families are excited to help out with taking care of a new child. We make time for several visits each year with extended family in other parts of the country (Arizona, Minnesota, and Florida). Kate has five step- siblings, so we now have 9 nieces and nephews. Our child will surely have plenty of cousins, and we can’t wait for them to grow up together! Our friends include many teachers and doctors, some of whom have young kids, so we are looking forward to our children growing up together.
We haven’t stopped having fun and loving each other since we met.
Thank You! If you choose us to be your child’s parents, we will teach them acceptance, tolerance, and respect for all people, including themselves. We will provide them with plenty of opportunities to grow and play. We fully respect you and your decisions, and we are truly honored that you are considering us as the adoptive family for your child.
