Meet Matt & Amber L.

Adoptive family

Dear Birthparents,

We are so excited that our paths have crossed. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about us. We admire your courage and strength, and we appreciate, more than words can say, your selfless act. Supporting you throughout this process with love and encouragement is our hope.

If given the opportunity, we will provide a loving and nurturing environment that encourages your child to be confident, learn to love others, and find joy and fun in the adventure of life.

Like many couples, we met through a dating website three years ago. Living an hour and a half apart we still don’t know how we were even matched but are incredibly grateful to God for bringing us together. The distance allowed for many long phone calls that gave us time to really get to know each other and become best friends. We spent many weekends traveling back and forth and quickly discovered we enjoyed doing many of the same things: spending time with family and friends, traveling, taking walks, and attending plays, concerts, and sporting events.

We also share similar values. Our faith is at the center of our lives, followed by relationships with family and friends. We both feel blessed to have been raised in loving homes with parents and siblings who care, and we make it a priority to love and encourage one another.

About Amber By Matt. Amber grew up in the Cleveland area, one of five children. She is so lovable, kind, selfless and fun that most who meet her fall in love. I fell the hardest – for those reasons and for her core values of JOY (Jesus, Others, Yourself).

At age 11, Amber was diagnosed with Turner Syndrome, which meant she would be unable to have children biologically. Her faith and maturity prompted a heart for adoption that would continue to grow through the years.

She has been an event planner for a local hospital for the past several years. She has also given her time, attention and heart to the youth groups at our church. Amber earned a Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy which she has used to counsel teens. I am excited to partner with her on this journey of parenthood.

About Matt By Amber. I was instantly drawn to Matt’s loving and contagious smile. He is loving, caring, thoughtful, loyal, and hardworking.

He grew up in the Pittsburgh area with his parents, an older sister, and a younger brother. His parents worked hard to provide for the family, which taught Matt the value of hard work, dedication, and perseverance. His grandfather was an avid reader and showed Matt the importance of education. Matt took that motivation and excelled in all of his schooling and became the first in his family to graduate from college. Matt can’t wait to take his son/daughter on the adventures that reading books can create.

Matt is always making me laugh. He helps others feel at ease and brings joy to those around him. He constantly looks for ways to serve and encourage others. I admire his desire to always better himself not only in the workplace but as the leader of our family. I feel very blessed to call him my husband and best friend.
